Brian R. Gaddis, age 54, of Newark, passed away on Tuesday June 5, 2007 at the Newark Healthcare Centre after a four-year courageous battle with cancer. Brian was born on November 25, 1952 at Martin Memorial Hospital in Mount Vernon to Clyde and Ernestine (Naylor) Gaddis.
Brian graduated from Fredericktown High School and the Knox County Joint Vocational School, where he was the winner of the Plymouth Trouble Shooting Contest for the state of Ohio. He was an avid drag racing fan, loved mud running and hauling cattle.
Surviving are his sons Jamie Gaddis of Newark, and Jason Gaddis of Gahanna; the mother of his children Donna Kirk, his mother Ernestine (Naylor) Gaddis of Mount Vernon; special grandson Quentin Gaddis; sister Diana (Scott) Wyman of Fort Wayne, Indiana; brothers Allan Gaddis, Rick Gaddis and Kevin Gaddis all of Mount Vernon; nieces Darcy (Joe) West, Tonya Gaddis, Alexandra Gaddis all of Mount Vernon; and Rachel Wyman of Fort Wayne; his nephews T.J. (Sarah) Gaddis of Delaware and Nathan Wyman of Fort Wayne; great nieces Kayla West and Anna Gaddis; great nephews Clinton West, Brett West, Jeremy West and Wesley Gaddis. His father Clyde R. Gaddis preceded Brian in death.
