Tom had 3 sisters, one died of "old age" and the youngest died of MS. The living sister is a "retired" school teacher, although she still works. Tom retired, I think 3 times, but the last time was forced when he had a stroke and wrecked the company truck.
Had triple bypass in Sept. 2006 because he did not pass the stress test for his back operation. That had to be postponed until February ‘07. It was calcium deposits that had to be removed because his legs and feet would go numb.
He had a history of TIA’s.
Tom had a couple of falls, inner ear infection, etc in 2016.

Thomas Edward Hillman III, 89, of Ontario, Ohio, passed away Tuesday morning, May 29, 2018, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital with his family by his side. He was born in Mansfield, Ohio, on June 12, 1928, to the late Thomas Edward Hillman II and Bessie Althea Hammett Hillman.
He was a 1948 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School. He was married to Norma Jeanne Mowry on July 8, 1950, by Rev. Carveth P. Mitchell at First English Lutheran Church. He was drafted into the U.S. Marine Corps and served during the Korean War. After his discharge, Tom worked at Thomas Hillman & Son Paving, D.H. Bowman, as Madison Township Road Superintendent, and at Hillman Precision Machine. He was a long time member of First English Lutheran Church.
Tom enjoyed being outdoors birdwatching and fishing, woodworking, building his unique bird houses and traveling as often as possible. He was a member of the American Legion, Ohio Genealogical Society and the Korean War Veterans Association. He enjoyed helping his children and grandchildren build their soap box derby cars and volunteered his services at the races for many years.
He is survived by his wife of almost 68 years, Norma Jeanne Hillman; son, Geoffrey (Laura) Hillman of Ashland; daughter, Tammy Hillman of Mansfield; seven grandsons, Robby (Rachelle) Hillman, Timothy (Tina) Hillman, Jonathon (Jennifer) Hillman, Shawn (Alexis) Hillman, Sam (Suzy) Hillman, Brian (Julie) Hillman and Nathan (Britaney) Hillman; seventeen Hillman great-grandchildren, Abby, Isaac, Katie, Joshua, Colin, Sophia, Bella, Brooklyn, Rilee, Owen, Devon, Autumn, Kylie, Maddison, Leann, Aiden, and Adrianna; a sister, Mary Jane Stewart of Mount Vernon; a nephew, Kevin Mishey; and a niece, Diane Dingler.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents; son, Barry Hillman; great-grandson, Sydney Hillman; and two sisters, Juanita (Russell) Mishey and Dorothy Hillman.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2018, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. A graveside service conducted by Rev. Paul L. Larson will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Mansfield Cemetery. The Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail and Korean War Veterans Association will present military honors.
