His parents were Adam J. Hott and Catherine Deal, and he was a twin with his brother Abraham. He was remarried to Susan LITTLE on 31 July 1849 after the death of his first wife, and had another 7 children.
In 1850 his mother was living with them.
In 1860 he was listed as a shoe maker (48, OH) with wife Susana (38, PA) and children Jerusha B. (9), Isaac H. (8), George S. (5), Jamey M. (3), and Linden A. (1) - indexed as Hatt.
He moved from Ohio to Michigan between 1860 and 1870, and is listed with Susannah and their 6 youngest children (George - Charles). They lived there the rest of their lives, and he died before 1880.
