Olen Lee was lovingly known as "Dutes" to his immediate family, and Leroy to many others. He was the son of Clyde Bowden and Elsie (Muncy) Bowden. He and his wife, Ruby were the parents of two children; a son and a daughter.
Leroy died at the young age of 37, in an automobile accident in Gilroy, the family was devastated.
Leroy's accomplishments were many. He served his country in both, the Air Force and the Army:
U.S. Air Force 1941 to Oct. 1945
U.S. Army 1945 to January, 1950
He worked for the San Jose Police Department, 3 years prior to graduating from the California Highway Patrol Academy in Sacramento on October 4,1954. He was assigned to San Benito County on Dec. 29,1954.
