The funeral for Floy A. Vance, 84, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at Fist United Methodist Church. The Rev. Susan Southall will officiate. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery. Arrangements are by Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
She was born Aug. 26, 1924, in Enid to LeRoy and Beulah Wells Craig and died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009.
She graduated from Enid High School in 1942, then from Enid Business College in May 1944. She married Donald R. Vance Aug. 19, 1943, in Enid. She worked as a school secretary at Cleveland and Monroe elementary schools, retiring after 23 years in May 1986. She also volunteered at Humphrey Heritage Village and Integris Bass Baptist Medical Center. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Vernon Woman's Extension Club and United Methodist Women. She had resided at The Commons several years.
Surviving are two sons, Larry J. Vance of Wichita, Kan., and Craig E. Vance of Lahoma; one brother, Eldon J. Craig of Enid; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, one infant son and one brother.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to First United Methodist Church or Enid Public Schools Foundation.
