Gerald Lee Wells was killed in a car accident. Four days later his wife, Audrey Wolfe also died as a result of the accident. His sister, Dorothy and husband Osie Billington took Gerald and Audrey’s two daughters and raised them. Dixie Lee Wells was 9 at the time and Kimberly Dee was 3 months old. They were both adopted by the Billingtons about 5 years later.
