In 1910 he is a blacksmith with his family, listed next to his father. It shows they had 4 children, only the two of whom were still living.
He was remarried after Ellen’s death, to Jennie A. Patterson (b. 1875) on 12 Jun 1919 in Calais. James is then listed in 1920 in Calais as a blacksmith in the paper mill, with wife Jennie A. (46, ME) and Georgia Patterson (74, IRE), her aunt? who had immigrated in 1848.
He apparently died prior to the 1930, when Jennie is listed as widowed in the Calais census, working as a private nurse, age 55.
