Edna Luise Hoad
Edna Luise Hoad, 83, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001, at Emanuel Hospital in Turlock. She was born Dec. 19, 1917, in Oakland. A native of Oakland, Edna and her late husband moved to Meadow Valley in 1964. Edna had a passion for work and had been a dedicated employee of the U.S. Forest Service as a bookkeeper for the past 14 years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and enjoyed sewing and caring for her family.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hoad, Sr., in 1985; and three brothers. Survivors include her son Thomas Jr.; daughter, Luise Parish, of Turlock; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Edna's life was held at the Meadow Valley District Cemetery on Sunday, Oct. 7. The family requests any donations in Edna's memory be made to either the Meadow Valley Volunteer Fire Department or the American Cancer Society, c/o Fehrman Mortuary and Crematory, P.O. Box 53, Quincy, CA 95971.
