He was listed as age 26 when he arrived on 5 Jul 1906 aboard the Statendam from Rotterdam. He stated that he was going to stay with a friend, F. Achserberg in Grand Rapids, MI and was listed as a brass founder, traveling alone with $10. He apparently never made it to Michigan, as he was living in Hoboken the next year when his wife and daughters came over to join him.
Living on Jefferson St in Hoboken, NJ in 1910 as an automobile mechanic, with his wife and 3 daughters. He, his wife and their children were naturalized in 1916.
Listed as a machinist in Queens, NY with wife Mary Hagan in 1918 WWI Draft registration, where it states that he is a naturalized citizen.
Listed in 1920 as a machinist in the Navy Yard (39, HOL), first immigrated in 1906 and naturalized in 1916. With his wife Mary (38, HOL) who immigrated in 1907 along with their two oldest daughters Johanna (16) and Henricka (14). Children Mary (11) and Anton (9) were born in New Jersey and New York.
In the 1925 Queens census he is listed as a machinist (45) with his wife Marie (43) and children Mary (16), Anton (15) and their new daughter Catherine (2).
Not listed in 1930 census, as he apparently went back to Holland for a visit (and was divorced), as he arrived in New York again on 14 Sep 1930, aboard the ship Rotterdam from Rotterdam. He was listed as age 50, single and living at 193 Four Bill Ave in Brooklyn. It states that he was naturalized on 4 Jan 1917 by the Common Pleas Court of Hudson Co, at Jersey City, NJ.
Shortly thereafter he was remarried to Tryntje Born, and they had daughter Mildred in 1932, and lived in Long Island and Queens until after the 1940 census, when he was listed as a machinist in the Navy Yard, with his wife Tryntje and 8 yr old daughter Mildred.
He had health problems with his lungs, and the Doctor said either Arizona or California, so California it was. Anton is listed in the 1942 Voter Registration as a democrat, and a machinist at 15 Sutter in Santa Clara, CA. They were only in California for a couple years before he died in 1943.
