Listed with her husband James Troy (indexed as Frey) and son John (1) in the 1850 census at age 27.
By 1860 they had moved to Fayette Co where the family consisted of John (12), David (9), James (6), Debra (3), and Norman (8 mos). His brother Wm (31) was living with them, as well as Eliza Mozier a domestic.
Letitia and James F. Troy (1820-1869), a Coal Dealer, lived in Greenfield, Washington Co, PA and Jefferson, Fayette Co, PA. They had the following children: John, David W., Frank T. "James", Deborah Jane, Norman, Robert A., and Elizabeth.
Following James’ death in 1869, she is listed in the 1870 census for Greenfield, PA as Annie Troy (47, PA) and widowed with her children.
Listed as Letitia Troy (55, PA) widowed in 1880 census, with children Frank (25), Norman (20), Robert (17), and Lizzie (14), and all 3 boys listed as coal miners.
An article in the April 28th, 1893 edition of the Canonsburg Weekly Notes states:
“The coroner’s jury in the case of the accidental shooting of Mrs. A. T. Troy (sic) of East Pike Run township, on Wednesday last, has completely exonerated her son-in-law, James W. Burtnett.” It is unclear whether this refers to her being shot on April 26th or April 19th. But since James was the husband of daughter Deborah Jane (16 Nov 1857 Coal Center, PA - 1 Apr 1939 Alliance, OH), it is clear that this article is for Letitia, and that she was apparently shot accidentally.
