The first Loken on the Norway farm dates from 1560. The family has been traced through family records to 2 half-brothers who split the farm, somewhere in the 1700’s. All the wives came from the valley except for 2 who were “outsiders” (they came from the next town).  So all the relatives were within about 7 miles of each other. The Loken and Langehaug farms are still in the family. Almost all the family history from that time has been captured by Mike R. Loken based on church records in Norway.
