Both she and her husband were teachers; Phyllis stopped teaching in 1970 so they could start a family and he taught high school Geography for 32 years before retiring in 1998.
Her husband died in 2004 at the age of 60. He actually died on Phyllis' birthday!

After a valiant struggle with pneumonia, it is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Phyllis on September 20, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital.
Predeceased by her husband Bill (2004). Beloved mother of Leah (Dave) and Greg (Sharon). Cremation has taken place.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Phyllis's life will be held at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 54 Benton Street, Kitchener on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow.
