wife of Silas William Frame
They were married and living in Martinsburg in 1940 with Silas (27, WV) working in a sanitarium for the WV state Dept of Health. The family consisted of just Violet W. (26, WV) and son William Terry (3, NC). It said that Silas had completed 5 yrs of college, and Violet 4 yrs of college, so she was still must have just been starting her master’s degree. It also said they had been living in Morgantown in 1935.

Violet Wells Frame, 93, of Martinsburg and formerly of Summerford Assisted Living in Hagerstown, MD, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, at City Hospital.
Born July 20, 1913, in Morgantown, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Sarah B. Grubbs Wells.
She was a graduate of WVU and received her master’s degree from Shippensburg University.
She was a school teacher at the one room Ridenour School, Winchester Avenue, Fairview Arden Elementary and Williamsport Elementary Schools. She retired after more than 50 years of teaching.
She was co-founder of Jack and Jill Preschools in Berkeley County where she taught private kindergarten classes.
The land at Camp Frame was donated by her father-in-law, Dr. Nat T. Frame.
Mrs. Frame was a talented artist and was very proud of the oil paintings she gave to her family. She traveled the U.S. extensively during her husband’s military career and later traveled abroad.
She had over 5,000 volunteer hours at City Hospital and was a member of the EGO Club.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for over 50 years.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan F. and Greg Mason, of Clear Spring, Md., and Linda F. and Wallace E. Smallwood Jr., of Shepherdstown; one son and daughter-in-law, William Terry and Hazel Frame, of Orange Park, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Silas William Frame, who died in 1956, and two sisters, Anna Lucille Wells and Ruth M. Whitelock.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. G. Edward Grove officiating. Interment will be at Rosedale Cemetery.
