Beulah was first married to Samuel Phillip Kinnel on 24 Dec 1928 in Warren Co, IL. They are listed in the 1930 census, with Samuel (23, PA) working as a superintendent for the water company, and Beulah (28, IL) as a secretary.
In 1940 she is listed as Beulah Kinnel (38, IL) a stenographer, as a sister-in-law with the family of Elbert and Elizabeth Richardson. Samuel is listed in Huntsville, TX prison records 1941-1943. And Beulah was remarried to Clifford Wells in 1949.

Mrs. Clifford Wells, 71, Joy, died of an apparent heart ailment Tuesday at Moline Lutheran Hospital.
The former Beulah I. Gardner was born Oct. 14, 1901 near Coldbrook. She attended rural schools at Coldbrook and was graduated from Monmouth High School in 1920. She was employed for 30 years as a secretary at Merillat Road Co., Monmouth. She married Clifford O. Wells, Dec. 28, 1949 at Fort Smith, Ark.
The couple came to Aledo and operated Wells Cafe which is still in business. Mrs. Wells was a member of Monmouth Christian Church, American Legion Auxiliary and various restaurant associations.
Survivors include the husband and a brother, Earl Gardner; four sisters, Elberta Martin, Lulu Smith, Ruth Edelman and Vada Blaul.
Funeral will be Friday at Reiser Chapel with burial at Monmouth Cemetery.

Both he and Beulah are listed as living in Illinois when they were married in Arkansas in 1949.

MONMOUTH — Clifford O. Wells, 66, of 1303 Lincoln Road, Monmouth, died Sunday at noon at the Monmouth Community Memorial Hospital. He was born April 30,1911, in Monmouth, and married Beulah Gardner. She died in 1973. He married Catherine Aleta Scott (1908-1993) on Nov. 12, 1975, in Monmouth. She survives with two brothers, Gerald E. Wells, El Paso, Tex., and Raymond Wells, Lago Vista, Tex.; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Wells was reared and educated in the Monmouth schools and was a graduate of Monmouth High School. He had managed the Prime Beef Room at the Colonial Hotel, Monmouth, and for 27 years owned and operated Wells Cafe at Aledo. He attended the First Christian Church, was a member of the Monmouth BPOE 397, the Marion B. Fletcher American Legion Post, the J. W. Clendenin Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Moose Lodge and was a World War II veteran. Funeral will be Wednesday, Rev. Ellis Beeman will officiate. Burial will be in the Monmouth Cemetery.
