[Obituary] CORTLAND STANDARD - Saturday, 20 November 1993
Shirley A McCall, 50 of 3703 Main Street, Truxton, NY, died November 18, 1993, at Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, NY. Mrs. McCall was born Dec. 29, 1942 in Owego, the daughter of Edwin and Clara Spicer Endler. She graduated from Virgil High School in 1961 and married Donald McCall in 1963. She had lived in Truxton for more than 25 years. Mrs. McCall worked for the last nine years at the Cortland BOCES in the student records department. She was the Truxton and Cuyler area correspondent for the Cortland Standard for many years until ill health forced her retirement last year. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Truxton, the Truxton Fire Department Auxiliary, the Irish Norther Aid of Syracuse, the Ladies of the Ancient Order of Hiberians of Cortland an for several years had been involved with the HOst Parent Project Children of Cortland. Mrs. McCall was an 11th generation descendant of John and Priscilla Alden of Plymouth Colony. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Timothy of Truxton, four daughters, Deanna Griffin of Truxton, Jessie Crouch of Cortland, and Donna Wells and Molly McCall, both of Truxton, Irish Project children Christopher Radcliff, Sean Carolan and Ciaran Tennason, all of Ireland; two brothers, Edwin T. Endler Jr. of Florida and Fred Endler of Dryden; two sisters, Eileen Lant of Cortland and Emily Daniels of Florida; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be Tuesday with prayers at 9 a.m. at Hall Funeral HOmer, 122 Tompkins Street, Cortland, and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Truxton. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Truxton. Friends may call Sunday from 5-7 pm and Monday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Project Children in care of Ellen Lartin, Ladies of the Ancient Order of Hib ernians, 202 Groton Avenue, Cortland, NY 13045.
