She was first married to Arthur Berke, a dentist, and had 3 year old son Edward in the 1940 census, Arthur moved to be with his son in Florida, just before his death in 1943.
She remained in New York with her son and was remarried to George L. Busch as Nettie L. Berke on 23 May 1946 in Manhattan.
She is listed in the 1950 New York City census as Nettie L. Busch (36, NY) wife of George L. Busch (50, RUS) with son Edward R. Busch (13, NY) and a lodger Rosalie Leisner.

DR ARTHUR BERKE
Dr Arthur Berke 37, of 2400 Ocean drive Miami Beach, native of New Rochelle NY, and resident here for two months, died Sunday in a Miami Beach hospital. Survivors include his widow Nettie and a son Edward R. (age 6), both of New Rochelle. The body will be sent to New York today by the Riverside chapel.

DR. BERKE'S RITES 11:30 TOMORROW
Services for Dr. Arthur Berke of 47 Melrose Drive, dentist, will ake place at 11:30 tomorrow morning at "The Riverside," 76th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, New York City.
Dr. Berke died during the night Saturday or early Sunday morning in Miami Beach, Fla., where he had gone for his health seven weeks ago. Pneumonia was the cause of death. Dr. Berke was 37 vears old.
A resident of this city for more than 16 years, he had been on the staff of New Rochelle Hospital, resigning because of ill health before he went south. He was also on the medical staff of the Selective Service. Dr. Berke was born in New York City and was graduated from New York University School of Dentistry. His offices were at 271 North Avenue.
Surviving are his wife, Nettie Berke; a son, Edward; his mother, Mrs. Julia Berke of New York City, and three sisters, Mrs. Sayde Levene of 10 Heminway Avenue, Mrs. Beatrice Silverstein and Mrs.
Irene Wilson, both of New York City.
