James V. "Jim" Hancock, 66, Noblesville, formerly of Kokomo, died at 2:08 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2011, at Harbor Manor in Noblesville. He was born Jan. 23, 1945, in Howard County, the son of Marjorie (Dickason) Hancock.. He was a graduate of Kokomo High School, and attended the Plainfield Police Academy. Jim was a former deputy with the Howard County Sheriff Department. He had been operations manager for Tylane Inc., and also had been a guard at Haynes International. He was a member of the Fellowship of Hope Club at North and Webster Streets, and former president of Northside Little League. He had been active in Northwest Little League coaching and umpiring. He loved to bowl and had been active in several bowling leagues. Jim was raised by William Hancock, and Marjorie Hancock-Wesner. He is survived by two sons, B. Kelly Hancock and wife Heather, Noblesville, and Gary D. Hancock, Marion; step-son Brian West, Kokomo, former wife Linda G. West-Hancock, Kokomo; two sisters, Adrienne and husband Larry Camp, Kokomo, and Tammy and husband Butch Gatliff, Rochester; eight grandchildren, Lindsey Fugett, Shelby Hancock, Bailey Steel, Lacey Lewis, Faith Cowal, Destiny McCullough, Payton Hancock, and Brian "Bub" West, Jr.; four great-grandchildren also survive Jim. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepparents, one brother, and three sisters. Funeral services are 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, at Shirley and Stout Funeral Home, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road with Rev. Bobby Hancock officiating. Burial will be private. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday just prior to the service at the funeral home.. Patricia A. (Wells) Estes, 71, Greentown, passed away at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2018, in Community Howard Regional Hospital in Kokomo.
She was born December 24, 1946, in Brilliant, Alabama, to Jack and Estella (Burleson) Johnson. She married Larry J. Wells on May 15, 1977, and he preceded her in death on June 9, 1997. She married Walter Max Estes on August 11, 2012, and he preceded her in death on December 19, 2016.
She graduated from Kokomo High School in 1965 and went on to attend Indiana Business College.
She had worked for United Presidential Life Insurance in quality assurance. She was a member of Jerome Christian Church. She volunteered on the show home committee and volunteered many years working in the We Care store and for We Care.
Patricia is survived by her children, Garry Douglas (Brent) Hancock, Marion, Deborah Wells, Phoenix, Arizona, Evelyn (Justin) Short, Kokomo, Ed (Tina) Wells, Sharpsberg, Georgia and Christine C. (Tom) Connaker, Phoenix, Arizona; stepson, Mark (Virginia) Estes; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; and brother, Jim (Marilee) Johnson, Xenia, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents and both husbands.
Visitation for family and friends will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main St, Greentown. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David Stokes and Bill Schaffer officiating. Burial in Sunset Memory Gardens, Kokomo, will follow the service.
