HAWLEY — Eleanor Koenig of Hawley, PA, a legal secretary and a retired employee of the North Pennsylvania Legal Service, Inc., in Honesdale, PA, died Saturday, June 19, 1999, at home. She was 53.
Daughter of Bertha Soposnick Gordon of Manhattan and the late Irving Gordon, she was born in Manhattan.
She received an Associate's Degree in business from Lackawanna Junior College in Scranton, PA. She attended the Hawley United Methodist Church in Hawley; was active with the Girl Scouts; an active member of the Wallenpaupack PTA; and was secretary of the Wayne-Pike Antique Car Club.
Services were held at the Hessling Funeral Home in Honesdale. The Rev. Martin L. Cox, pastor of the Hawley United Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was at the Grove Cemetery in Paupack, PA.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wayne Unit, American Cancer Society, 627 Main Street, Honesdale, PA 18431.

Eleanor A. Koenig June 19, 1999 Eleanor A. Koenig, 53, of Hawley, died Saturday evening at home after an illness. She was the wife of Randolph "Randy" Koenig. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., daughter of Bertha Soposnick Gordon, Manhattan, and the late Irving Gordon, she graduated from Stewart High School in New York and received an associate's degree in business from Lackawanna Junior College.
She was a legal secretary and worked at the North Pennsylvania Legal Service Inc., Honesdale, until the time of her illness. She attended the Hawley United Methodist Church and was active with the Girl Scouts and the Wallenpaupack PTA. She was secretary of the Wayne-Pike Antique Car Club. She was a loving wife and mother.
Also surviving are three daughters, Lisa Carroll, Hamlin; Susanne Mejia, Miami, Fla.; and Erica Koenig, at home; a sister, Arlene Koenig, Lake Wales, Fla.; a niece and a nephew. The funeral will be Wednesday from the Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main St., Honesdale, with services at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Martin L Cox, pastor of Hawley United Methodist Church. Interment, Pine Grove Cemetery, Paupack Pike County. Friends may call today, 7 to 9 pm, and Wednesday, 10 am until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Wayne Unit, 627 Main SL, Honesdale.
