After immigrating to the US in 1901, Claire was naturalized in 1918, and married 29 Nov 1919 in Monroe Co, NY. She and her husband, John W. Young (26, NY) are living with her mother in 1920. They have his son Howard, (4, NY), and daughter Bernice (5, NY) from a former marriage living with them.
By 1930 they have moved to Webster Twp, and have been married 11 years. They now have added a daughter Claire (8, NY), son John E. (7, NY) and daughter Laurel (3 mos, NY) to the family.
Still in Webster in 1940 where he is listed as John M. Young (46, NY) working as a railroad fireman, with wife Claire A. (42, CAN) who is naturalized and John E. (16) and Laurel A. (Peters)(1928-1983).
Claire is listed with John in the 1960 Rochester city directory, the year he died.

Formerly of Webster, December 24, 1980. Mrs. Young is survived by her daughters, Mrs. Bernice Abrams of Webster, Mrs. Walter (Claire) Johnson of Rochester, Mrs. Darwin (Laurel) Peters of Perinton; son, Howard of Spokane, WA; sister, Mrs. Laura McConnell of PA; brother, Raymond Wells of MI; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Young was very active with the Red Cross Blood Mobile and the Monroe County Home.
Friends are invited to call at the Nulton Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Rd, Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 where a funeral service will be held Monday at 1 o’clock. Interment White Haven.
