David Leonard Ginsburgh, 77, of Kingston passed away early Saturday morning, May 9, 2009, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Haskell and Henrietta Sperling Ginsburgh, the grandson of the late Rabbi David Ginsburg and nephew of the late Rabbi Isidore Davidson.
David was a graduate of Meyers High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was an Eternal Light member of Temple Israel, a Mason, a member of the Irem Temple Shriners, and a member of other civic and religious organizations.
Mr. Ginsburgh was a well-respected and honest businessman, owning and operating Key Stores, a candy and tobacco distributorship in Wilkes-Barre. He was an avid sportsman who particularly followed the Philadelphia teams and was also a horse-racing enthusiast.
David is survived by his loving wife, Dr. Laurel Cooper Ginsburgh; sister, Ann Klein, Syracuse, N.Y., and West Palm Beach, Fla.; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, 348 S. River St., Wilkes-Barre, with Rabbi Larry Kaplan and Cantor Ahron Abraham officiating. Interment will be in Temple Israel Cemetery, Swoyersville.
Shiva will be observed at 581 Meadowland Ave., Kingston, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday and Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
