TERRE HAUTE, July 29 -
James H. Ivie, 76, died at his home here Saturday. Born in Lawrenceville, IL, he was a veteran of the Spanish American war, and had made his home for a few years at the State Soldiers Home at Lafayette until recently. He was a member of the United Spanish War Veterans. He is survived by two sons, Robert, Casper Wyoming, and LeRoy of St. Louis, MO.

In 1900, she is listed as a servant, working as a hotel cook, and living with Henry Beringer’s family.
She was married to William Henry Hall in in 1913 in Santa Ana, Calif.
Hattie then married Benjamin Frank Grant in 1915 in Indiana, with her last name as Hall.
In 1919, she took her mother’s remains from Chicago to Madrid, NY for burial in the family plot. She was then married in November 1919 to James H. Ivie in Danville, IL.
In 1930, she and James Ivie were both listed in the Sailors & Soldiers Home in Illinois, as Hattie M. (57, NY).
By 1940, they had been moved to the State Soldiers Home in Indiana, where she is listed as Ada H. Ivie (68, NY).
Was married to James H Ivie (1867-1946) when she died.

MRS. JAMES H. IVIE
Mrs. Hattie M. Ivie, 74, wife of James H. Ivie, Spanish War veteran, died at 1 a.m. Tuesday at the Soldiers Home hospital. Born in Madrid , NYY, she entered the home in 1926, from Vigo county. Surviving are the husband and two sons, Robert Thomas of Casper, Wyo., and LeRoy, of St. Louis.
The body is at the Templeton funeral home and services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Soldiers Home chapel.
