Mrs. Carrie A. Hair
Mrs. Carrie A. Hair, 77, of 2623 Regent St., passed away yesterday at her home following a long illness. She was a native of San Francisco where her father, Edward Beckwith, was a pastor of a Congregational Church in the early days. He was also principal of the noted Punahou School in Hawaii and of other schools for members of Royal Hawaiian families there. Mrs. Hair's grandparents, the Richard Armstrongs were also pioneer missionaries in the Islands.
Mrs. Hair had been a resident of Berkeley for the past 10 years. She was a member of Northbrae Community Church. Her husband was the late John James Hair with whom she spent 45 years in the Islands.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Doris Kloss, Mrs. Margaret Eastman and Mrs. Dorothy Hair Thomas; a son, Edward Hair and by eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Cathedral Chapel of the Grant Miller Co.
