Josephine Aguirre Beloso, 97, died Monday at her residence of natural causes. A native of Gorocica, Vizcaya, Spain, she was born Aug. 19, 1891, and had been a Reno resident since the early 1920s, when she started a tavern business. She also lived in Westwood, Elko, Eureka, and Golconda, Nev. Educated in Spain, Mrs. Beloso was a homemaker. She was a member of the Golden Age Club, the Basque Club and the Catholic Church. Her husband, Francisco Beloso (1887-1941), died in May 1941. Surviving are daughters, Josephine Remling, Marie Urrutia and Anita Lawson, and a brother, Julian Pagay, all of Reno; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-greatgrandchildren. Visitation is scheduled from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Walton Funeral Home, Reno. Recitation of the rosary and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Therese of the Little Flower Catholic Church. Burial will be at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery. A memorial is being established with the Reno Senior Citizens Center, 1155 E. Ninth Reno 89512.
