Mrs. Polly Mae Baity, 92, of Winston-Salem passed away Wednesday Jan 10, 2007, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born on May 14, 1914 in Yadkin County to Thomas Noah an Addie Hoots Baity. She was preceded in death by a sister, Leona Reaves. Mrs. Baity is survived by a daughter, Linda Baity of Winston-Salem; a son, Luke Wells and wife Cindy, longtime residents of Flint, Mich.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Annie Lee McDaniel, and a brother, Vearl Dean Baity of Courtney. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at Parklawn Memorial Park, with Chaplain Bill Teague officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel before the service.

REIDSVILLE
Herman Taft Wells, 57 of 501 Madison Street, died yesterday at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital. He had been ill for several years. He was born in Yadkin County and moved to Reidsville in 1945. He worked for American Tobacco Co until retiring in 1963.
Surviving are his wife Mrs Mae Howell Wells, a son Luther Wells of Flint Mich, four brothers, John Wells of Yadkinville, Alonzo Wells of Winston Salem, Willie Wells of Kannapolis, and Edward Wells of Salisbury; and a sister Mrs Ethel Eller of North Wilkesboro. The funeral will be at 2 pm Saturday at the Bible Fellowship Assembly. Burial will be in Reidlawn Cemetery. The body is at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
