Robert's mother died in 1908 when he was seven years old. In 1910, Robert lived on a farm in Perry Township, Richland County, Ohio with his father and siblings. According to the census, he was the youngest of 4 children living at home. His father was a farmer. They owned their farm.
Lived in Mansfield in 1929, and in Butler since 1933. Worked for Ohio Brass Co. in Mansfield for 40 years as a brass finisher. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Butler.
Listed in Butler in 1940 with Robert (39, OH) working as a lathe operator at Ohio Brass, and the family consisting of Lelia (38, OH), daughter Marjorie (7, OH) and son Richard (2, OH).
Died of a heart attack after having been hospitalized for a broken hip (April 10th) and subsequent complications. Funeral Services held in Snyder Funeral Home, Bellville by Rev. Allen Rose.

Robert W. Wells
BUTLER - Robert W. Wells, 86, of 27 College St. died this morning in Knox Community Hospital, Mt. Vernon, after a brief illness.
He was born March 8, 1901, in Knox County to Millard and Ida Moats Wells, and had been a Butler resident 56 years. He was a retired employee of Ohio Brass Co., with 40 years' service. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Butler.
Mr. Wells is survived by his wife, Lelia Black Wells, whom he married Dec. 30, 1926; one son, Richard of Grove City, Pa.; one daughter, Marjorie Fearn of Fredericktown; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home by his pastor, the Rev, Allen Rose. Burial will be in Bunker Hill Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions to the Worthington Township Rescue Squad may be left at the funeral home.
