In 1920 he is listed as a glass cutter in a glass factory, living with his widowed mother. Both his parents were listed as born in PA.
Listed with his mother until her death, and with/near his sister Christina in 1934 in Honesdale.
He was blind in one eye after helping take care of a neighbor child who had poison ivy. Billy contacted it from him and it was in his eye and he lost sight in it.
He is listed in Honesdale for his WWII draft registration, where his closest contact is his aunt - Mrs. John Stegner
William is listed in the 1950 census as a patient in a mental institution, age 61 and never married.
Unmarried and had no trade, a bum according to Walter G. Tallman.
He was an alcoholic who died in Allentown State Hospital.

Mrs. Southerton, Honesdale, Dies
Mrs. Kathryn Southerton, 511 Church St., Honesdale, died Wednesday afternoon in Wayne County Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, after an illness. She was the widow of George Southerton.
Born in Honesdale, daughter of the late John and Mary Menner Myers, she was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Church Honesdale, and its Altar and Rosary Society.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Bernard Jeko and Mrs. Leo Smith, Honesdale; four sons, William, Reading; and Robert, George and Bernard Honesdale; four sisters, Mrs. Joseph Sheridan, and Mrs. George Reifler, Hawley; Mrs. Harold Lilholt, Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Mrs. Edna Lobb, New York City; eight brothers, Charles, Bellaire, Ohio; Robert Daytona Beach, Fla.; Harold, Joseph, Louis and Kenneth, Honesdale; Raymond, Bethany, and Frederick, Hawley; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Meyers Funeral Home, 1403 Main St., Honesdale, with mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Magdalen Church. Interment parish cemetery. Viewing after 7 tonight.
