BELLVILLE: Bernadene Doris “Bobbie” Banks Dickson was born October 29, 1925 to Clarence E. and Bessie R. Clever Banks. She grew up in Bellville, graduating from Bellville High School in 1943, with the honor of Homecoming Queen. She married her high school sweetheart, William F. Dickson in 1944. Bobbie worked at several jobs including Westinghouse, WT Grant, Ray Bush Furniture, and the Pro Shop at San-Dar Acres Golf Course (now Little Apple).
One of Bobbie’s pastimes was golf, in which she beat her talented husband twice. She and Bill enjoyed playing cards with several groups of friends. They spent time together collecting antiques, traveling west and visiting national parks. As the family photographer, Bobbie took many pictures of family gatherings, grandchildren, and any family members' vehicles! She found pleasure in recording events in a diary she wrote in daily.
For over 60 years, Bobbie traced her family’s genealogy, creating multiple binders of information on several related families. This information was generously offered to the Ohio Genealogical Society in Bellville.
Bobbie delighted in cross stitching for over 40 years and was a part of a stitching sisterhood that met monthly for 35+ years.
She passed peacefully at Trustwell Living in Mansfield, supported by loving family members and friends.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents; twin sons Ronald and Donald, at birth; her husband; brothers Earl and Gene Banks; sister-in-law Dorothy Banks, brother-in-law Gene Taylor and granddaughter-in-law Camille Strickling.

BELLVILLE
William F. “Bill” Dickson, 82, of Bellville, died Saturday morning February 23, 2008 in Lexington Court Care Center.
He was born June 15, 1925 in Washington Township near Bellville to Floyd A. and Freda M. (Herrick) Dickson and was graduated from Bellville High School in 1943.
A lifelong Bellville resident, Bill had worked with Stevens Manufacturing in Lexington, and retired in 1990 as a supervisor from Therm-O-Disc in Mansfield.
A member of the Presbyterian Church in Bellville, Bill was also active with the Bellville-Jefferson Township Historical Society, the Lexington Senior Civic Center, and Bellville Lodge #376 F. & A.M.
Shortly after his marriage to his high school sweetheart, Bill picked up the game of golf. In 1956 he began shooting “holes-in-one.” Throughout his life Bill shot ten holes-in-one, including his ninth one on the opening day of the Deer Ridge Course near Bellville. He combined his love of the game and his compulsion for excellence when he served as superintendent of the San-Dar Golf Course in Bellville.
Bill was characterized by his patient personality, even under trial and illness. His honesty and sense of humor added to his likability. An endearing family man, he loved his family, and thought his grandchildren were the highlight of his lifeā¦until his great grandchildren came along. Family, pizza and a good round of euchre made a perfect evening for him.

He was preceded in death by twin infant sons Ronald and Donald; brother and sister-in-law Richard & Geneva Dickson; and a sister Helen Young.
