Marriage record with Bessie Wells shows his birth as being 1891, rather than 1890 which I had previously based on his obit. However, his WWI and WWII Draft registrations say he was born in 1890, and is consistent with the census and christening records.

Born March 7th according to Iva's family photo, Melva's Bible, and her marriage record (in contrast to her birth certificate and obit). Listed as Sarah R. Wells in 1900 census.
Married to Jim by O. E. Ford. Then lived on a farm for some time, later moved back to Mt. Gilead (according to Dad). Living in Mt. Gilead, OH in 1929 when her father died, but in Morrow Co in both the 1930 and 1940 census. Then in Galion when her brother died in 1956. Had no children according to Frances Wells.

Mrs. Bessie Gale Dies In Hospital After Long Illness
Mrs. Bessie Sarah Gale, 124 W. Summit St., died Sunday at 9:12 p.m. in Community Hospital, where she was admitted June 17, Mrs. Gale had been in poor health for eight months.
Funeral services will be held in the Snyder funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, with Rev. Norman R. Somerville officiating, assisted by Rev. Harold Chandler of Edison. Burial will be made in North Fork cemetery in Morrow County.
Born in Perry township of Morrow County March 8, 1896, she was the daughter of Millard and Ida Moats Wells. She is survived by her husband, James H. Gale, to whom she was married on Feb. 3, 1915. Also surviving are four brothers and two sisters, Omar Wells, Mt. Vernon; Frank Wells of Jelloway; Oliver Wells of Sterling, Colo.; Robert Wells and Mrs. Iva Countryman of Butler and Mrs. Josie Ruhl of Galion, with a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Gale had resided in Galion for 8 years coming from Edison, where she was a member of the Methodist church.
