Clark, Elizabeth W. – age 78 years of Scenery Hill, R. D. 1, PA died Friday, January 10, 1975 at 12:25 p.m. in the Washington Hospital after a five day illness. She was born January 27, 1896 in Jefferson Township, Fayette County, the daughter of the late James S. and Mary (Stuckslager) Wells. She attended Jefferson school and taught commercial in Chalfants Business College, Brownsville. She had resided at Scenery Hill for the past 53 years where she was engaged in dairy farming with her husband and son. She was a Protestant by faith. On June 18, 1919 she married Philip F. Clark, Sr. who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mary, wife of J. Louis Baker of Beallsville, PA., Ruth, wife of Ben M. Weaver, Canonsburg, PA., one son, Philip F. Clark, Jr. of Old National Pike, Brownsville, three sisters; Mae W. Forsyth, Uniontown, Clara D. Gorman, Grindstone, PA., Edna Ley, Cape Cod, Mass; two brothers; Robert L. Wells, Grindstone, Willie C. Wells, Perryopolis, six grandchildren, one great granddaughter, two nieces and five nephews and many other relatives. Also preceding her in death were one sister, three brothers and one granddaughter. Friends will be received in the Greenlee Funeral Home, Beallsville, PA. Saturday 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday 12 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, January 13 until 11 a.m. the hour of service with Rev. George Dran officiating. Interment will follow in the Beallsville Cemetery.

Philip Floyd Clark Sr. of Cool Acres Farm, Canonsburg R.D. 2, died Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ben Weaver.
Mr. Clark, who had been ill for two weeks, was 90.
He was born Oct 26, 1888, in Jefferson Twp., Fayette County, the son of the late Nathaniel Taylor and Margaret Fisher Clark.
Mr. Clark earned AB and master's degrees from Ohio Northern University. He received a LLB Degree in 1915, and earned a LLB Degree from the University of Cincinnati.
Mr. Clark was admitted to the Ohio State Bar before he received his law degree.
Although he practiced law in Ohio for a time, farming was his life's work. With his wife and son, he operated a purebred Guernsey dairy farm in Beallsville for 50 years.
He was a justice of the peace in Beallsville for 38 years, and he had served as secretary on the local school board and on Beallsville Borough Council. He was a former Washington County committeeman. Mr. Clark collected information on President Abraham Lincoln and city home rule charters. His scrapbooks were donated to the Western Pennsylvania Historical Society.
Mr. Clark was a Methodist.
Surviving are a son, Philip Clark Jr. of Centerville; a daughter, Mrs. Ben (Ruth) Weaver of Canonsburg; a niece, Wilma Ruth Murphy of Beallsville; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
His wife, Elizabeth Wells Clark, died in January 1975 and a daughter, Mary Clark Baker, died in August 1978. A brother, Paul Clark, and a sister, Myrtle Craig, also are deceased.
Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Greenlee Funeral Home, Beallsville.
