History of Fayette Co says he was the first glass cutter for William Eberhard who took over the abandoned Schmertz & Co glass factory in 1836. It also lists him as a Burgess in Fayette City in 1858 and 1873. Listed in Cookstown Borough, Fayette Co in 1850 as age 33 and a glass cutter with wife Margaret, age 22 and dau Zabel (7), plus brother John age 23 a clerk.
In 1860 Griffith is listed as a butcher (45) with wife Margaret (41) and daughter Isabel (17).
In 1870 Isabelle had left home to marry, but the Cook family across the street had asked Griffith and Margaret to rasie their daughter, Anna. She is listed with the family in the 1870 census, but not in 1880.
In 1880 he is listed as Griffie, a retired glass cutter, with his wife and a servant.
There is a will for Margaret Wells which names her husband Griffith as a beneficiary. It is dated July 1, 1879 and recorded 5 Mar, 1887 in Fayette Co. Birth and death dates from tombstone in Fayette Co.

Misc. Notes
1880 census lists family on Hill Road, Fayette City and that Margaret had a liver affliction. Will for Margaret Wells names her husband Griffith as a beneficiary. It is dated July 1, 1879 and recorded 5 Mar, 1887 in Fayette Co. Executor: James McCune, who requested that the court release him because he was moving west. Witness: W. A. McCune, mother Rachael.
