Also listed as born 1847 in the Bowman history. She was his second wife, they were married by James Wilson, pastor Reformed Church of Long Branch, NJ. He was age 40, she age 23. Lived in Suffolk Co, NY in 1877 when she received her $98 from her fathers estate. They moved to Wabaunsee, KS in 1879.
They are listed in 1900 census with children Theodore, John and Mary still at home, where she is listed as age 46 (b. Feb 1854) after 28 years of marriage with 5 of her 7 children living. But in 1910 she was listed as age 65.
Papers submitted to Wabaunsee Hist Soc. by Mrs Maxine Bowman Sumners had the following information:
They had 7 children - George, William, Martha, Alice, Theodore, John, and Mary. He came from the East by train, bringing his wife with him. He was a carpenter and farmer, active in the Beecher Bible and Rifle Church. They lived in a log cabin at first, then built a home later which is still being used in Wabaunsee. Their descendants are still living in the area.

In 1870 he and his first wife, Martha, had a Henrietta Van Note (12, NJ), who was noted as an "idiot", living with them.
After the death of Martha, and his (re)marriage to Alice, he moved to Wabaunsee, KS in 1879. He came from the East by train, bringing his new wife with him. He was a carpenter and farmer, active in the Beecher Bible and Rifle Church.
