In 1850 he is listed in Peru, NY as a laborer (29, NY) with his wife Jane (26, NY) and children Alonzo (7), Delia (5), Emilly (4), and Melissa (2) - all born in NY.
Elias Cook had his brickyard on the Salmon River near Plattsburgh and Schuyler Falls.
Lisited as a brick maker (44, NY) in 1860, with his wife Jane (35, NY) and children Edward (18), Adelia (15), Emily (13), Lucy (9), and Susan (7) - all born in NY.
Still there in 1870 as a brickmaker (57, NY) with Jane (45, VT) and son Edward (26) who was listed as blind, and dau Susan (16).
Elias bought land in Chateaugay in the 1870's where he lived just down the road from Nathan and Charlotte.
Listed in Chateaugay in 1880 as a farmer (69, NY) with wife Jane (56, VT) and (probably) granddaughter Anna (7, NY).
He died 29 Dec 1899, and his probate was filed on 10 Jan 1900, with letters of administration to Lucy A. Kline and Adele M. Robinson.
