HIs naturalization petition and WWII draft registration list his birth as 10 Sept 1885, but his headstone lists his birth as 25 Sept 1888.
On 13 Jan 1908 Sam filed a petition for Naturalization stating that he arrived at the port of New York on 14 Jun 1905 aboard the Philadelphia from Southampton England. And that he was from Minsk (province) Russia, born on 10 Sept 1885 and was a Tailor. He signed Sam Kartusinsky and was living at 126 E. 2nd St at the time. He is listed as Samuel Kartusinsky in the 1913 New York City directory, as a tailor at 245 E. 13th St. He was naturalized on 1 Mar 1915 as Samuel Kartusinsky.
His WWI Draft registration lists him as naturalized and living at 231 E. 13th St, with Philip Kartusinsky on E. 145th St as his contact person.
He was living with sister Rose’s family in 1925 as Sam Carter (38, RUS).
