She came from good Nordic stock -- strong women. Daughter of Alice Violet Larson (1906-1971) and Charles Leonard Wheaton (1892-1985), born in Washington, living in Ketchikan, AK in 1935 and Everett, Snohomish Co, WA in 1940 where she (14) is listed with her sister Coleen (17, WA) and mother Alice Wheaton (34, WA), living with her widowed great Uncle Loran Larson (84, WI). Listed as Violet R. Wheaton there in 1947.
She is listed in various public records and voter registrations in the peninsula between her marriage to Vito and their divorce in 1981.
Vi liveed in Chicago Park, CA (Grass Valley area). She had heart surgery in 2016, but bounced right back.

Violet Rose Marchi passed away peacefully on April 18, 2023, at the age of 97.
A viewing is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., with the funeral service to begin at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, May 12th at Hooper and Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City.
Born on August 5, 1925, in Lake Stevens, Washington, she attended school in Everett, Washington and Ketchikan, Alaska. She lived and worked in Everett, as well as Washington, D.C.
Violet met Vito Marchi as a volunteer at an U.S.O. dance, marrying him in 1949. They raised their six children in Redwood City, California, with virtues and morals, including the Golden Rule.
Making Grass Valley her home in 1985, she pursued her passion for horses and gardening. Violet loved hiking, travelling, writing poetry, painting, and most of all, having her loving family together.
She is survived by her children Suzanne Freschi, Deanna Tanner, Jeanine Deitz, Timothy Marchi, 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
Violet is preceded in death by her two sons, Michael and Christopher Marchi, sister Colleen Clark, as well as her ex-husband and father of her six children, Vito Marchi.

He was single when he enlisted during WWII on 27 Mar 1943, was inducted on 27 Jun 1944 and discharged 18 Dec 1945.
After divorcing Violet, he was remarried to Gloria W Nystrom (Gloria W. Walker) on 30 May 1981 in Orange, CA.
Lived in Sharon Heights, had Parkinson’s disease and was in a rest home.

Vito Marchi - Engineering company president
Vito Vincent Marchi of Menlo Park, who was president of Marchi Associates for 30 years, died September 19 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He was 76.
A native of San Francisco, Mr. Marchi served as a fighter pilot in World War II. His name is included in the Air Force Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs. Mr. Marchi continued his interest in flying throughout his life and kept his Citabria at the San Carlos Airport.
After the war, Mr. Marchi graduated from the University of California at Berkeley, where he received degrees in mechanical and aeronautical engineering.
He founded his own company, Marchi Associates, designing, among other things, instruments for space projects, including the shovel that scooped up dirt on Mars for NASA during the 1978 Viking trip. His family noted he also developed equipment for measuring the temperature inside Mt. Saint Helens. He sold the business several years ago, due to ill health.
Mr. Marchi is survived by his wife of 20 years, Gloria; children Mike, Chris, Suzanne, Deanna, Jeanine and Tim; two stepchildren, Chris and Wendy Ann; sister and brother-in-law Alice and Sergio Baldocchi.
Services were held at St. Denis Catholic Church in Menlo Park, followed by a graveside service with military honors at Alta Mesa Memorial Park, Palo Alto. Memorial donations may be sent to the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., honoring Mr. Marchi, who is listed in the Registry of Remembrances, Combat category.
