Married to Meredith Reed and lived in Newton.
IGI says it was to Mollie Moats on 21 Mar 1878 (unless a second wife) while the Licking County history says they married 22 Mar 1877 and had a daughter, Emily Ellen born 15 Mar 1880. They had a son Meredith S. in Jun 1888, and their daughter (Minnie) Delcie was born 14 May 1895 according to letter from Licking Co Gen Soc by Delcie Gray Pound. They subsequently had a son Lester in 1902.

"Mary E. Reid, only child of Benjamin and Ella Moats, was born in Eden Township, February 21, 1858, and departed this life November 16, 1910 aged 52 years, 8 months and 24 days. She united with the Disciple Church at Rocky Fork at the early age of 12 years, living in her master's service ever ready to lend a helping hand. She was united in marriage to Mr. Meredith Reid on the 10th day of March, 1878. To this union five children were born--Ella, Clifford, Meredith, Delcie and Lester. They together with the husband are left to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother."

The county history gives his birth data. It says the family moved to Licking Co in 1861 near Elizabethtown. In 1873 his parents moved to Danville, Knox Co where his mother died one year later at the age of 37. Two years after this his father moved to Missouri. He was one of ten children - 7 boys 3 girls. His youngest brother and one sister died before 1878. He and his father were carpenters, and he was farming 80 acres of the Linn estate in 1878. They had a daughter, Emily Ellen 15 March 1880.
In the 1880 census, he is listed as age 27, a farmer born in VA as were his parents.
1900 census shows Meredith living in Newton Twp, Licking County with wife Mary W. (b. 2/1858) and son Meredith S. (6/1888) and daughter Minnie D. (5/1895).
1910 census which lists Merilth (sic?) H. Reid, age 57 living with wife Mary, aged 52 and children Emily 14 and Lester 8. Also living in Newark is Meredith H. Reid, aged 22 with wife Ella (probably Mary Ella Cada) and sons Homer (Howard), aged 2 and daughter Lillian.

MEREDITH L. REID
Meredith Lysander Reid, 77, died Tuesday afternoon at 2:08 o'clock in the home of his son, Clifford Reid, 420 Manning street. He had been ill since Saturday and death was due to a kidney condition. He was born Jan. 2, 1858, in VIrginia, the son of Lysander and Mary Reid, and on March 20, 1878, he was married to Mary D. Moats, who is deceased.
He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Young, of. this city, Mrs. Byrl Schenck, also of Newark; three sons, Clifford, Meredith and Lester, of Newark; nine grandchildret and five great-grandchildren: also two sisters, Mrs. Ella Winn, of Colorado, Mrs. Hannah Southard, of Missourl, and three brothers, Thaddeus Reid, of Jacksontown, James, of Missouri and William Reid.
Three brothers and a sister are deceased. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock in the home in Manning street and burial will be made in Cedar Hill cemetery.
