Grace E. Tallman of Honesdale, PA, died on Sunday July 1, 2007 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was 80. Her husband of 59 years is John P. Tallman. The couple married on August 12, 1947 in St. John the Evangelist Church.
The daughter of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth Young Ostrander, she was born November 22, 1926 in Boyds Mills, PA. She was a graduate of Damascus High School. A loving housewife and mother, Grace volunteered in medical records at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish and its Altar and Rosary Society. She will be remembered as a devoted and strong mother and wife.
She is also survived by her sons, Paul Tallman and significant other Sharon of Waymart, PA; Michael D. Tallman and wife Lisa and Bernie Tallman, all of Honesdale; a daughter, Linda Monaghan and husband Mike of Monroe, NH; brothers George and wife Betty of Haskell, NJ, Elwin of Honesdale, Walter and wife Jean of Beach Lake, PA and Larry Ostrander and wife Ruth of Gelatt, PA; seven grandchildren; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, July 5, 2007 at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Honesdale. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

John P. "Jack" Tallman March 21, 1922 - March 20, 2013
John P. "Jack" Tallman, 90, of Honesdale, died on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Grace E. Ostrander on July 1, 2007. The couple married on August 12, 1947.
Born on March 21, 1922 in Honesdale, he was the son of the late Raymond and Kathryn Hosey Tallman. A graduate of Honesdale High School, Jack began working at Loomis Company. Later he joined the US Navy, stationed in the Pacific during World War II and was apart of Battle of Leyte Gulf. A humble man, Jack did not speak about the medals and honors he received during his military service.
After returning, he worked at Loomis Co. which later became Yuba Co. For a short period, he worked for Treadwell Co. in Easton, PA traveling there during the week and returning on the weekends. He later retired from Moore Business Forms in Honesdale.
Jack was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale, attending St. Mary Magdalen Church. When he was younger, he enjoyed fishing and until recently, enjoyed taking care of his gardens. Jack was a kind man and will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.
Surviving are his sons Michael Tallman and wife Lisa and Bernie Tallman all of Honesdale; his daughter Linda Monaghan and husband Mike of Monroe, NH; sisters Kay Babyak and husband John of White Mills and Judy Rimlinger and husband Hank of Hawley; grandchildren Wade, Bryan, Neil and Meghan Tallman and Michael, Tim and Ryan Monaghan; 8 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son Paul Tallman and a brother Raymond (Bud) Tallman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 25th at 10 am at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Honesdale. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
