Daughter of Nicasius De Sille, and widow of Francis Kriegier. Mrs. Kriegier had a daughter Elizabeth Cregier (Elizabeth's 5 Jul 1662 baptism sponsored by Martin Krieger, Nicasius de Sille and Elizabeth Kregier) from her earlier marriage, but it is not known whether this child survived.

Grew up after 1657 in Beverwyck (Albany) but returned to New Amsterdam when he became an adult. He was well-educated and served in several positions in the Colony, including Notary Public and Postmaster of New Amsterdam. On 29 Aug 1659, he m. (1) Wyntje Sybrante (c 1638/39 Amsterdam, Holland - divorced or dead by 1669), possible daughter of Sybrants Janszen and Lysbeth Adrains. (Wyntje poss. returned to Holland before her marriage to Willem was terminated.)
