Twin sister of Olivia, born in Thornton Corners. They moved to Shelby where they lived until 1918, and then moved to Toronto where Grace attended Toronto Normal School. She taught a year in Cochrane and then in various Toronto schools.
She taught at Hudson Public School until she married Rev. Malcolm Barr.
After the deaths of her sister Ruby and Ruby's husband, she and Malcolm adopted two of the Muirhead children: Grace and Norman. The other child, Lila, was taken by her other sister, Mary & Rev Herbert Wintemute.
She retired from teaching in the mid 60’s and moved to Victoria, BC. While there she was sent a copy of the “Ruttan History” by a relative in California.
Grace died from cancer that was spread throughout her body in the hospital in Fenlon Falls Ontario in July 1975.

Malcolm’s father had a large farm outside Beachburg, and he had a home in the village, so it is unknown if he was born on the farm or in the village.
He had an older brother, James A. Barr of Beachburg, Ont. and younger sisters Annabell and Tena.
He got his Theological degree from McMaster Univeristy. After they were married, his first church assignment was in Blind River; and they spent the depression years in Kirkland Lake.
Malcolm died from a heart attack in Sept 1959 in his study at the Baptist Church in Gravenhurst Ontario where he had been the pastor.
