Owned Hines Corners when his father arrived there in 1831 (impossible).
Listed with his parents at age 27 in 1850. Listed next to his father in 1860 as a farmer, $1,600/$400. His family consisted of wife Lucinda (40), Grace (14), Betsy ( 11), Mary (8), Kate (5), Fremont (3), and David (1). The three oldest daughters were his step-children.
Listed near his brothers and parents in 1870 as a farmer (48) with $3,000/$600. His family consists of Lucinda (50), Catherine (15), Fremont (13), and Jefferson (10). Also living with them were Mary and Grace Finch.
Philander remarried after Lorinda died in 1885 at the age of 65 and his second wife's name was Melvina. Melvina is recorded in 1894 as receiving Philander's widow's pension for a Civil War vet.
In the Orson PA Cemetery there is no stone for him, but there is a flag and a veteran's medal signifying "Philander Hine. Col. 3 PA Cav."
