RED HOOK - Catherine I. Ryder, 70, a Red Hook resident, died Sunday at Albany Medical Center. A lifetime area resident, Mrs. Ryder worked for many years at the First National Bank of Red Hook. She worked for Key Bank after it acquired the First National Bank of Red Hook, and later worked at Norstar Bank in Kingston. Most recently, she was a clerk at the First National Bank of Rhinebeck.
She was a member of Christ Church in Red Hook, Northern Duchess Hospital Auxiliary’s Rhinecliff Unit, and the Rhinebeck Chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons.
Born June 7, 1923, in Queens she was the daughter of Anton and Marie Gertz. She married Woodrow V. Ryder who died July 4, 1981.
Survivors include a daughter, Lee Ann Hansen of Red Hook, a sister, Helen Bahr of Millersburg, PA; two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hour are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Burnett Rockefeller and Hand Funeral Home 30 South Broadway, Red Hook. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Christ Church, 59 South Broadway, Red Hook. The Rev. Fred C. Cartier, rector, will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hook, in the spring.
