Edward Dorr was born on April 6, 1816 at The Plains, Athens County, Ohio. Edward Dorr was the son of Baruch Dorr and Phoebe Ward. He married Elizabeth Bull, daughter of Col. John Conklin Bull and Catherine Storm Hasbrouck, on June 4, 1846 at Methodist Church, Valparaiso, Porter County, Indiana; by Robert Ham, Minister.
Listed in the 1850 census for Porter Co, IN with his wife, 2 children and a Betsey Ann Dorr (9) who may have been a niece.

It becomes our duty to announce the death of Mr. Edward Dorr, of Twenty Mile Prairie, which took place yesterday morning at 4 o'clock. He was one of the oldest citizens of Porter Co, and held a high place in the esteem of an extended circle of friends and acquaintances.
