Graduate of Yale in 1742 and studied divinity. He married Helena Talcott, dau of Gov Joseph Talcott of Connecticut. He was ordained and installed as minister of the first church in Hartford, Conn. on 20 April 1748. His widow survived him and was remarried 16 Nov 1773 to Rev. Robert Breek of Springfield.
