Pottsville News: J. H. Bowden, age 88, an old Confederate soldier, died at the home of a niece, Mrs. Allen Kendrick, Wednesday, Jan. 2, 1929. His funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. H. Smith Thursday, at Ford's Cchapel on the mountain, and he was laid to rest in the Bowden cemetery.
