Listed as Harmon in 1880, and Hermon with his parents in 1900, then alone as H. J. Blanchat (33, OH) a bricklayer in Arizona in 1910.
He enlisted as a cook (PFC) in the 40th Div of 158th Arizona Infantry in WWI from 11 Apr 1917 thru 8 Sept 1919, most of which was spent in Europe.
He apparently migrated to California after the war, as he is listed in multiple voter registrations there for San Bernardino Co, before being next recorded as single, head of household (62, OH) in the 1940 Mono Co, CA census. Then in Bishop, CA when he registered for the WWII draft.
