The eldest son Illion took over the farm; the house was divided between the old couple and the young folks. He married Emma Mary Sabrina Swerdfeger on 12 Jun 1889. In due course the homestead passed to Illion's son Lee, who farmed it until it was flooded by the St. Lawrence Seaway.
