Misc. Notes
She and Edward Brennan are listed in 1901, after only a year of marriage with son Chauncey John (b. 10 Jan 1901)
In 1911 they also had son Garret A. (20 Oct 1902-10 Sep 1969) and daughter Ruth M. (Dec 1904, NY), as well as her widowed mother, Mary living with them.
In June 1914 Gertrude, her children, her mother, and her brother-in-law Henry E. Brennan immigrated to the US at Ogdensburg, NY.
They are then listed in the 1920 Ogdensburg census as Henry E. Brennan (42, CAN), immigrated in 1914, with his wife Lillian G. (41, CAN), Chauncey (17, CAN), Garrett A. (16, CAN), Ruth (14, CAN), and Joan K. (5, NY), along with her widowed mother Mary Wells (73, CAN).
They are listed together in the 1925 state census, which says they have been in the US 10 years, which explains why daughter Joan was born there. It is noted that both Ted and Chauncey were naturalized in Canton that year.
The family is listed in 1930 as Ted (53, CAN), Gertrude (52, CAN), Chauncey (28, CAN) married 1 yr to Dorothy (27, CAN), and Joan (15, NY).
For some reason, they are listed as H. Edward Brennan and L. Gertrude Brennan in the city directories after 1930, and on their headstones in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Gertrude (63, CAN) and husband Ted (63, CAN) a carpenter and naturalized are listed in the 1940 Odgensburg census.
