His first wife was Catrina Aumick m. 1831 who died of smallpox, according to document from Shelly Wiggins and verified by death certificate of their daughter Julia Wiggins Maynard (7 Mar 1832 - 20 Nov 1909).

On July 30th, 1855 he and his wife Eliza were deeded 25 Acres (which was purchased from John Redmond Coxe in 1835) by his father Silas Wiggins and wife Barbara in exchange for building a house on the property and caring for them (the parents) for the rest of their lives in a respectable manner. Should they fail to do so, the property would revert if the parents were living or be subject to the county Judge. Deed recorded 18 Jan, 1858. In 1860 he was listed with his wife and 3 sons, 2 dau's as a Day Laborer, age 49, born in Penn. Tioga Town Vital Records list him as dying 3 May 1874 at age 63 yrs, 1 month. His wife was a widow in 1880.
