Shirley Ann Frisby, 85, of Cleveland, Oklahoma, formerly of Muskogee, died Friday, April 22, 2011 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. She was born June 3, 1925 to Van C. and Mary (English) Smith in Muskogee where she graduated from Central High School in 1943. Later, she attended UCLA in Los Angeles and studied nursing at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa.
Shirley's passion was gardening all spring, summer and fall and reading horticultural magazines in the winter.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Barbara Maynard of Marion, Ohio. She is survived by two sons, Glenn Carleton Frisby and wife Eva of Plano, Texas and Timothy M. Frisby of Tulsa; sisters and their husbands, Helen and Tom Burns of Pampa, Texas, Joan and Lou Higgs of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Mary Jo and Raleigh Wright of Tulsa; cousins, Betty Perkins of Tulsa and Betty Weaver of Muskogee and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Greenhill Cemetery.
