WELLS MOCKSVILLE
Mr John Thomas Wells 85 of Rt 8 died Wednesday morning at Hoots Memorial Hospital in Yadkinville He was born July 9 1909 (sic) in Yadkin County to William Green and Lula Lash Wells. Mr Wells was retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Co and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Preceding him death were his wife Beulah Mae Reavis Wells December 17, 1993 and a son Thomas Ervin Wells. Surviving are a son William Leon Wells Yadkinville, two daughters Mrs Dorothy Collins, Mrs Lula Mae Joyner both of Yadkinville, eight grandchildren Tommy and Dean Joyner, Lou Ann Joyner Reavis, Johnny and Jeff Collins, Jackie Collins, William Ricky Wells, Lydia Wells Pharr; 17 great grandchildren and one great great grand child.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm Friday at Liberty Baptist Church by the Rev Marvin Blackburn and Rev Jeff Collins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm Thursday at Mackie Gentry Funeral Home in Yadkinville and other times at the residence of Mrs Lula Mae Joyner and Mrs Helen Bowman.
