Family surname is Gaddis. Family is thought to have lived in Cincinnati OH. He was placed in orphanage as a newborn. Mother passed away shortly after giving birth and Father couldn’t care for baby. Records destroyed when orphanage burnt down.
In 1920 he is listed at age 6, as the only chiild of his adoptive parents.
He married Mary Lucille Hittle (1914-2010) in Newport, KY in July 1932
Listed in the 1950 census as a plumber with his wife, 2 sons and 2 daughters.

BAREFOOT BAY - Herbert E. Snider, 82, a retired millwright, died Monday, Feb. 26, at home.
Mr. Snider was born in Union City, Ind. He came to Brevard County 16 years ago from Geneva, Ind.
He was a former employee of Westinghouse in Union City and of Avatar, where he worked as a starter and ranger for the Barefoot Bay Golf Course.
Mr. Snider was a four-year manager of the Wabash Valley Golf Course in Geneva. He was a member of the Mid-West Club, Friday Shuffle Board League, Euchre Club and a 16-year member of the Barefoot Bay Golf Course. He was also a member and past president of the Lions Club in Union City.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Lucille Snider of Barefoot Bay; daughters, Gwili Yost of Winchester, Ind.; and Judy Hindsley of Union City; sons, Jack Snider of Stone Mountain, Ga.; and Larry Snider of Greenville, Ohio; sister, Clara Westgard of Enterprise, Ore.; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
No calling hours are scheduled. Memorial services will be 10 a.m Friday at Fountainhead Memorial Funeral Home in Palm Bay.

Mary Lucille Snider, 96, of Greenville, Ohio, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010 at Wayne Health Care, Greenville, Ohio.
She was born Nov. 24, 1914 in Rossburg, Ohio, to the late Eugene and Bessie Grooms Hittle. She was employed by Westinghouse for 12 years and by Wallings Dress Shop. Snider was a member of Westinghouse retirees and an avid golfer and Indiana Pacers fan.
Survivors include her children, Gwili (Kenneth) Cox of Union City, Ind., Jack (Jeanie) Snider of Helena, Mont., Judy (Dennis) Hindsley of Union City, Ind., and Larry (Linda) Snider of Greenville, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert Snider in 1996; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; and three sisters, Eco Erwin, Winnifred Riegel and Wavelene Bell.
Graveside funeral services are 1 p.m. Monday at Union City Cemetery with Pastor Jim Leonard officiating. Burial is at Union City Cemetery.
There will be no public calling hours. Reichard Funeral Home, Union City, Ind., is in charge of arrangements.
